CONSTITUTION DAY BELLS ACROSS AMERICA
September 17, 3:45-4:45 p.m.
First Presbyterian Church Courtyard
Come celebrate the anniversary of the signing of the US Constitution. Troop 72 and the Ocala Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) will ring the bell of First Presbyterian Church 239 times to recreate the moment church bells in Philadelphia rang out during the final signing on of the U.S. Constitution on September 17, 1787.
Siblings and Cub Scouts are welcome to participate. It takes lots of kids to ring the bell so many times. The DAR ladies will provide cookies and punch while we have a short history lesson on how we got from the Declaration of Independence to the signing of the US Constitution.
